Help a newbie fix his Boombox - GF 9090

Hi Guys,

I have a VZ-2000, A GF 4747 and have just bought a 9090.

So it fastforwards, rewinds and plays - ie the spools turn - I haven't tested with a tape.
Speakers rattle.
The radio - white noise comes out of speakers, but nothing will tune in.
Where to start?

I have taken the front off - for everyone to be able to take a peep!

You probably have what a lot of us do, a box that needs a lot of work. Cleaning of pots, belt replacement, head cleaning, checking of solder joints, tuner adjustments, capacitors, etc. on and on.

How technically proficient are you? Not meant as a dig, but to help us identify how comfotable you are.
