HI all. My names Lee, I'm from Australia. I've always been interested in old-school sound equipment, but never did anything about it. I just bought my first boombox, a Sharp gf-9292 (hopefully the first of many). I've joined this forum as i am looking for some parts for it. It's in perfect condition except for the antennas. If anyone know where i can get some from it would be greatly appreciated.

Boxedout: I'm from Melbourne, where abouts are you from?

welcome flea, if you could show us a pic of the type of power cord the 9292 needs like a pic of the socket the cord plugs into i'm sure somebody has one maybe even me ,thats if you can't find one at the store, i love the 9292 it's a great looking box.

If your really into boomboxes you better hang on for the ride, you will find the fun and insanity is limitless. :breakdance: :blink:

I don't have the antennas but I can tell you the figure eight power plug is pretty standard and common, you should be able to find one in your local electronics parts stores if you have any. If you don't ebay is full of them so getting a power cord shouldn't be problem.

Ah cool.. I will be coming to Melbourne very soon for the grand prix.

I'm new to the forum and from Melbourne too, in Hoppers Crossing. Just getting into it now.
I'm trying to seek out a nice Conion C100... It's damn near impossible to find in Australia!
Have you got any particular boxes your chasing?

great to see there's some locals here. There's nothing in particular that I'm chasing. I'm always going to markets, and thrift stores. If I find something that I like or it's the right price, I'll get it.
I'm in the middle of moving house, so don't have much play money for new radios. As soon as I start again, I'll post some pics up.
