Today I opened up the new Trident I just got, wanted to do some cleaning, check a few things....
It was so sweet to open up, you know that feeling when screws that have been in place since 1982 "Crack" for the first time when you twist the screw driver
BTW, this box is SO well designed
There is a tiny "S" near every screw you need to remove on the back. Pull the front knobs and the face pulls away, then 2 plugs inside releases the whole font panel clean. The EQ remains on the face with all the sliders in place. The cassette decks each come out with no fuss and four screws...and there's the belts
But this is what I found to be interesting....
Although this radio "Appears" to have 8 inch drivers, it does not. I knew this and when you see it up close it it obvious...
BUT, inside the speaker actually mounts to a removable RING. You can unscrew the speaker from the ring and the ring from the cabinet face and then you can SCREW AN 8 INCH DRIVER IN PLACE
Have you ever seen that before?
Kind of dusty in there....this sucker has never been opened before
BTW, I found where the 220v/110v switch is....in the battery compartment...Good for you Euro guys! (OZ too?)
