The BEST Elvis album EVER is An Afternoon in the Garden LIVE at Madison Square Garden June 10th, 1972. Vocally at his prime and unlike the LOSER lip syncer's of today, this show it uncut, one take! Even the best bands put out live albums that are songs taken from 3-4 nights or even the best of a whole tour....This is ONE SHOW start to finish and he is FLAWLESS!

THAT is why he IS the KING or Rock n Roll

Thanks for the scoop, Chris. I'll download that today. If not, I'll try the Live At Madison Square Garden show from the day before. I'm always looking for live Elvis from the 1968-1972 era. You know, after the Comeback Special & before he got fat, so to speak.

My favorite is The Sun Sessions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_sessions) In my opinion, the greatest Rock n Roll ever recorded, bar non.
Not bad for an 18 year old man-child that only wanted to make a record for his Mama's birthday.

As bad as his acting was I actually enjoy his movies. They are knid of like a long music video before there were music videos. :-)

I need to get that other Live at M.S.G. show too. Imagine, Elvis with his full Rock band...the Sweet Inspirations backing vocals, a guy who sings the lows, Katy Westmoreland singing all the highs, a barber shop quartet, a full choir AND a full orchestra! THAT'S A FRIGGEN' SHOW MAN!

Yeah, the movies are tough, but still worth watching. I wish Elvis could have written his own music. He was amazing, but the material lacked.
