Sadly, the SA don't do electrics in the UK as the only charity here that has the funds to employ PAT staff (portable appliance testers) for its shops is the British Heart Foundation, and the last time our nearest BHF had a boombox for sale it was a very smelly one that had obviously belonged to someone who smoked 2 ounces of rough shag per week and never opened the windows while they were doing it! Had it been a PC-11, I'd have had it if only so that I could lay claim to owning three of these marvellously reliable, sweet-sounding JVC portable compos, but sadly, that box was some modern, cheap ovoid one and worth at best maybe £5 if it would have supplied any usable spares for real boomers!
NZ appears to be some sort of Heaven for box people!
