GoldStar TSR-850

Hello everyone,
I'm new here and this is my first post.
I had a GoldStar TSR-850 in my youth. Then it disappeared somewhere, and recently I saw it in my old photo and decided to buy the same one.
I found it in Germany, placed an order and have already received it.
For its age, it looks perfect and everything seems to work fine, except the Auto Stop function.
I would be grateful if someone could tell me what the reason could be?
And one more question - how to choose correctly the Main Belt? The original part number is 99A-0239

I suspect your boombox might not even have auto-stop function. It's very basic, even lacking a tape counter it appears. Goldstar back then wasn't a big player in the electronics market. It's very doubtful there exists a cross-reference for it's parts. For that reason, your best bet is to just remove the existing belt, and measure it, or use some line and loop it through it's path, and measure the line.

Thank you very much.
Actually, it has a tape counter and autostop function.
Moreover, the autostop works if I press the lever with my finger (I marked this lever with a red arrow in the attached photo). But I have to press quite hard for it to work.

I remember replacing a belt in a deck with a mechanical autostop system like your Goldstar.
The belt i used was a bit too loose so the torque was too low to make the lever engage the autostop function
I hope this helps

I just saw your crosspost on Audiokarma, glad to see you got the help you needed. Yeah, failing mechs from corrosion and old grease is a common problem.

Looks very similar to the 9880 I had in my collection. Decent size one piece. I liked it
