i´ve got the Eversonic bolts box (american model) and the Stereo Sonic (german model) which looks like your Robin and apart from the transformer they are identical inside.
The sound is great indeed.

I doubt very much that there are any internal differences between these boxes. I do believe, however, that the operating condition of these things after 30 years can vary greatly from one example to another so one comparison betwen a single robin vs bolt example shouldn't be taken as "truth."

I do know that I've looked at the amp in the Bolt boxes and have concluded that it uses an outrageously powerful amp (something like 20wpc, BTL). When working to it's potential, I find it hard to believe any boombox having noticeably more power. My guess..... the bolt used in the comparison might not have been at 100%.

It's very interesting reading through these posts and how boxes come full circle. This Gold Conion in this post now sits (2 individuals later) in good working condition and gets its daily blasting...heck its blasting right now. Both decks working great still and did a complete repair on the spare tape holder. Clicks open and closed.

Wish I paid $40 bucks for it no Regrets. It's been a great machine and a great addition to the family

I've been on a Conion kick lately, I'm seriously hoping I can find one cheap one day. Beautiful box, the gold is especially cool!
