We spent many hours talking about life, boxes, collecting and all good things in general.
Let me say that I had a sensational night, great food, great company and....my goodness, some very very fine boxes.
So, what were the highlights of his collection and the visit for me???
M90 - Ok, we know this box may be the one to rule them all, but to sit, play and listen to this fine unit for the first time nearly made me cry.
Highs and image that are just so sweet, with a build to die for. All round great bass too.
Big Ben - Loads and loads of nice bass, detailed treble. IMHO a hugely underrated box.
Lasonic 935 - first time I have heard "lasonic bass" gosh, it sounds like it could demolish walls, strong and so effortless. and light to carry too!
Really appreciate that some boxes seem to be designed for certain music types, Public Enemy was rockin on this guy.
Vela disco - Got to admit it, I initially thought this box was too cheesy to be taken seriously....hah. In the flesh it is just so cool, I could never get sick of watching those lights.
VZ-2000 - Amazing, just amazing.
I could go on and on, but these few really hit hard with me.
So, hopefully the first of many meetings...we so need to get a downunder meet happening.
