GF-9696 - Is this a dumb idea?

Don't f up a minty box, but hell yeah, it's yours...painted black gives it a look kind of like Lyle achieved in his book...

I like the black more too . But on the other hand i would keep it original
Here's a pic of my GF 9696 and GF 508 SB together .
Both with black around the speakers. Looks very cool this way
