Does anyone know what the numbers on the flywheel are for? I changed belts on my Sharp gf8989 and it was playing fine before and now its playing very slow. Do the fly wheel numbers have to be lined up with something? Belts are right size and metal plate is on correctly. Motor wont change speed either. I know my small screwdriver is in the slot in the motor but no change in speed.

First check pinch roller because if it's dried and cracked it causes issues. Also these sharps have a tire on Capstan shaft that needs replacement using a fuel type line from gas powered rc car etc... which can be purchased at hobby store usually. I can't remember size of fuel line but there are posts here about it.

In this moment i can help.....

I make my pinch roler by myself....who wonder about????

I have the GF8989 here, In my case was the problem only the hardenen pinch roller, but no problem......i can make what you need.....

i have reduced a speciall rubbertube to the needed diameter on my lathe with a little special knowledge....

Befor a also chenge the belts but the result was very slowly sound....after i change and remaked the pichrollerrubber it sound perfect....

in many case occures the little rubber the problem. You must only push out the insert and change the rubber....Et' Voila it will works fine

You need to disassemble only the complete pinchroller.

Nice work so your machining down the inner and outer circumference? The pinch roller is one item that is universal, it doesn't matter what size it is as long as it fits!

Oh, my english is worst i try to understand.....Ähhhh...the outside diameter from the rubber is the same as the original is, when it is assebled to the insert,

cause it bends a little, but my opinion is, that the outside diameter is important, cause the spring on the pinch roller definite the pressure to the capstan....

So its easy to make every diameter, but i think the higher the pressure, causes through the diameter, can be accelerate the end of lifetime from the rubber....

But thats my logic....Is anyone here with the same opinion? Or is it like so often i have no experience with this :-D
