Heyya all,
Well, I had to do it twice to get it right but my first tear down & re-belt went smooth thanks to eddy with the link to a parts seller ^ FatDog for the RR,FF Rebelt PDF I found on another site I won't mention here..
Anyone with an expereienced eye is welcome to give me an honest opinion on the condition of the decks in my GF-777Z. Here's some photos to look at to see what you can tell me, if anything. I don't know what to expect so it's ahrd for me to judge the condition myself but they look new & unused, as if this was a warranty replacement box that never saw service:
I pulled out the guts of the GF & removed the tape transports form the plastic skeleton:

Is it just my wishful thinking or does this transprot look minty fresh as if it was never used?

Here's a shot of the internals with the flywheels removed. Again, I'm looking but I don't see any wear, dirt or other signs of use. Even the IDLER wheel rubbers are in great shape & didn't need replacing at all:

Here's another photo of the flywheels. Although they look oxidized they look perfect & the excess grease from the spindles are still fresh looking. I actually had to wipe off the excess & clean the pully wheels etc. of errant grease:

Here, the deck is claened, re-belted & ready to go. In this shot, you can see the ample grease applied, maybe at the factory, but no by me. In fact, it was a bit excessive & I had to wipe off the excess & clean the wheels, belts & idlers, a second time(not pictured) to get RR & FF to work right. Thanx again FatDog for the PDF as it was a must for me.

So guyy & gals, what do you think? Is this an un-used deck I'm looking at or what?
Thanx all,
Cpl-Chronic
