GF-777Z loading....4 or 8 OHM woofers

Heyya, =)

If this buy works out & the unit is functional, I'm thinking of changing out the woofers, What are the original woofer's impedence? I want to match it so it operates as intended.

don't forget if you do change them to A: keep the old one's for later in life as you may want to change back B: some one on here might need them to fix there 777

The amps mite not drive them
And the power to the amps mite not be enough
Lots to think about
Ive put heaps of big magnet speakers in my Play 777 and they were crap

would be nice if you could find a set of kevla/carbon fibre woofers for the centre subs and more of a midrange type for the outers..

some kevlar here but sadly not in usa..

Edit : These are no good,Not 4ohm,these are 8ohm,they may overload your amp..

Many things about, specialy the sensibility of the woofers!!!

I'm betting the'll be a good overall performer at lower wattages. I wish I could go the Kevlar route as they look good & seem like top performers butr I can't find any that ship to North America.

I still have to pick a woofer/tweeter set. Anyone know what kind of tweeters are in the original horns of the 777Z & are they worth replacing too? I'm thinking of a paired setup with crossover, maybe which brings up another point. does the 777Z ahve crossovers of any kind already?

Holy Crap!!! IS it just me or is GLD huge?!?! He's about a 1/2 foot or more taller than everybody else in the PIC & the 777Z looks like a Casio in his hand.
