Yeah I have a panasonic turntable box with flat fold out speakers of a similar style (not as cool looking), but again it has no bass. And it has to be quite big to fit a turntable in it, too big for no bass  .

thanks holly

btw, just seen the main difference to the SONY

SONY: better protection at transport, because everything is "inside"
AIMOR: it can also be used in folded condition! :-)

:w00t: Your Aimor is very nice old school device in great condition! I got the other model AIMOR ST - 801FS2, with same kind of folding speakers. I guess it is an older model.

True, similar great "briefcase" concept!

I recal PHILIPS RR 800 is propably the first 3 piece briefcase boomer (right from the beginning of 70's) with detachable speakers.
Speakers do not fold but they are detachable and go in the back of the device when transported. I found the device
couple of years ago but speakers still missing :(

Another one is BELAIR CHR-506 from 1971 which is very sophisticated "briefcase" boombox as SONY CFS-88L is. Belair has great 50's quality looks.
I got one from eBay 2 years ago in for 35 euros. I was pretty thrilled when I found out it was NM/M condition with the original microphone included..
