Fisher PH 480 Cassette Deck not working

Hi
Does Anyone know when this spring goes? the cassette deck will not do anything

it was fast forwarding before but it needed new belts and i just noticed this piece and the spring next to the solenoid i thought it was a loose connection at first. but i guess this would have something to do with it not having any power now
