OK- Anyone have and use a machine that is just downright ugly? You know the type I mean- a good machine that perhaps was too well loved, looks like hell, and maybe the only one you have that you try to hide when people come over lest you be embarassed by it? Cracked cases, cigarette burns, duck taped handles, duck taped in batteries, missing and bent trim, busted off antennas.... Me? My roach is a GE- sounds and works too well to junk it....

imp: I will put a pic of the GE on tomorrow- I fixed it up a lot, tho- why? I was using it outdoors last fall, and forgot it was outside. It was near the trash cans, and the guys came to pick up the trash and almost tossed it into the hopper- they thought it was put out for landfill. 
I was so embarassed by that, I took it apart, covered it with contact paper, and cleaned it. It is not perfect, but it is rare in that it has digital readout on the radio- rare for a 1981 Boomer!
