so i found myself in a random time warp on friday and got myself this.
I had heard that it was there couple of weeks ago while browsing things on the net. did myself plenty of research on ways to convince the price down, not actually knowing what it looked like.
on friday i decided to head into Christchurch, with my plan.
it was in a so called 'antiques shop' that i didnt know was there. turns out its been there almost 1yr. it had been found in a house lot the owner had purchased. naturally he wanted a small fortune so i had to work my plan.
he claimed he was the first person to open it. score 1 to me, it wasnt in a plastic bag, has no instruction book and unfortunately no microphone, was quite dusty. I instantly noticed the protective plastic was still on but didnt say anything, so im guessing he didnt know.
after about an hour of trying to make a deal we were still 100s apart. i gave him a hand to get it back in the box due to it being after 5pm and closing time. i was going to walk away and try forgetting about it.......till he finally gave in and we agreed on my offer, having the cash money in hand possibly helped. HAPPY DAYS!
so it appears like its been used very slightly, has minor scratches on top, front looks perfect, has a small rust spot on the left grill. everything works perfectly.
seems its been shut in its box since 1990ish. have only cleaned the chrome.
