This great idea will surely get squashed by the oil companies. They'll buy this guy's patent and put it on shelf in a hidden warehouse. Just like GM undermined their own EV-1 electric car from the 80's.
Did any of you see that documentary called "who killed the electric car"? GM would only lease those cars, not sell them... and when the lease was up they wouldn't let anyone renew their lease. GM bought up the new battery technology that would make those cars even more efficient and squashed it.... and then they destroyed all of the cars. GM didn't like the low maintenance aspect of an electric car. Apparently, when those cars came in for service, all they ever really needed was new wipers and fluid, and brakes. And the people who had those cars loved them...
The petroleum industry has this country (and pretty much most of the world) by the balls.

Exactly my point John. I believe we have a need for powerful V8 vehicles and such. I mean there is a reason I have my trucks besides to just have a truck. But to run to the grocery store, etc. electrick vehicles are perfect. I'm no tree hugging hippie, but I do try to consolidate all stops into a single run while on the way home from work or other neccesary trip.

I had seen this glass highway some time ago, very cool.
Yep saw that movie too. Sad how these American Corporations treat us, but the truth is, these companies may have started in the United States, but they are now global companies that hold no bond with the people of the US, they go where the money is, stealing everything along the way including everyones money and resources. The sad part is, our F'd up government still lets them use out military to make those profits!
A perfect example is Haliburton. A few years ago they moved their headquarters to Dubai. That's what we need, the number one weapons pusher in the middle east.
