You're living a dream, Bill. I hope you continue making great music!
its been a lot of fun. the best part of it is getting to hang out with the younger crowd of people. its really a cool thing for me i mean touring is always interesting. heading up and down the coast in a questionable vehicle heading into towns where people might not be used to folks from the city. seen a big part of the states. gotta do the east coast tho sooner rather than later. been to that big fort in texas where ozzy peed on the wall. was pretty surprised to see it was in the middle of a city and not in the middle of a desert some place.
i guess my favorite places in the states are for sure san fran on a cool evening where the mist is headed in and the light has all that soft focus look to it.
i kind of found san fran to be a bit of a magical place in some ways i mean there is something different about it for sure. its kind of like vancouver only with a way more crazy vibe to it.
played in clubs where i was able to confirm through visual sightings that yes indeed vampires do exist.
spent a evening with the devil in a business suit with the contract being waved in front of our faces. heard about every stupid cliche there is from the bird dogging promoters.
played shows where we left flush with cash and others where they passed the hat and unfortunately only seven people were there including the owner of that hat.
the wierd thing about making music when you are older is you realize that its something that most likely will not bring you any kind of living and that you arent working a day job but some how through the grace of the mechanism of this life you are surviving. some guys tho dont survive. so many of the kids i played with ended up going down bad roads. good kids from good homes with good parents. getting so far in to the music machine but not into the money. i mean the music industry has changed so much. people have changed so much.
we live in a world now where everything seems to come and go in a blink of the eye.
most people i think have never sat down and listened to a entire album from start to finish in a long long time.
right now there is more music out there than ever before in the history of humanity.
the tools to create music exist in a way almost unimaginable three decades ago.
a individual can create music from there computer master it and distribute it without any other kind of help from anyone.
millions of recordings most likely every year.
i think one of the things i have been the most proud of is not giving up.
this new recording will be most likely the last one i do with a band. if this band keeps going great but if it does not thats ok too.
i once got a email from someone claiming to be ennio morricone i remember blowing it off as being just a joke by one of my friends.
i think i will start recording more music under just my own name in the coming time. i like pop music and rock music and different popular styles of music.
i really tho have the deep desire to begin again to work on something more off the beaten path . something more akin to score type music.
its what i like to do the most.
