Ebay "untested" isn't always bad!

Ok so I do like an ebay gamble...I go for the badly listed, poor photos, few details kinda listings as they often go cheap. But it's always a big gamble.

So when I say three Sanyos together with a cheap BIN and cheap shipping I wasn't put off by it saying they were completely untested...not even confirmed they power up. So I hit the buy it now. I did regret it shortly after as although the seller had a great rep he did sell a lot of electricals and many were tested. So it made me wonder why he couldn't be bothered to test these.

Well the parcel turned up today, was quick shipping and well packed. I fully expected them not to even power up.

Heres what I got for very little money...they power up, sound great, just needs belts and some switch cleaner...I love ebay...sometimes :-) image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Yes! I saw those as well, the first Sanyo caught my eye..
I like taking a gamble as well.. I also recently bought a grail that was described as not working but, indeed it does!

That was how I got my 1st Gen 931. They never tried with batteries!

A little deoxit on the AC/DC switch and it worked both ways!

Great outcome on the that gamble! A few of my eBay purchases were described with a "switch not working" or "no sound from one speaker" when all the switch needed was a squirt of good ol Deoxit. That was the case with my JVC 838. The Biphonic/Stereo switch was just a little dirty, great score you got there Northerner.

It doesn't get much better than that! Way to grab your balls and go for it! Nice score!

Thanks fellas...after hitting BIN I was convinced I'd end up with three completely non functioning radios so I was so chuffed when they all worked! I love a gamble like this :-) :-)

hell untested is my favorite category next to for parts or repair. i usually troll as close to the bottom as possible trying to pick up the crumbs nobody wants or knows about. if i lower my standards it lowers the price lol.
