I have a Discolite DK990, both cassette players work but I have no sound coming out of the stereo.

No sound from the radio either. None of the LED or lights work. Any ideas what I should be looking for?

Start by opening it up and looking for clear signs of damage like cracked boards or broken/disconnected wires.

Thanks for the replies.....The power switch was broken but inside the stereo....I used it to put the stereo in the the on position (this allowed me to get the decks to work)......runs off mains and batteries. It is basically on all the time if it has power now.

The only LED to light up is the "continuous play" LED. It will also go into HI speed when you flick the Hi speed dub switch.

Didn't notice any cracks in the boards or broken wires.

The decks will probably have their own power source that's independent of the source for the amps, tuner etc.

Check for power at the amp and turner to get started.

I'm assuming you have DVM handy.

Hi I have one of these just recently bought. Gave it a very good deep clean. My only problem on this unit. Is the fm signal loads of interference when tuning. Hissy scratchy noise when tuning. Any idear be very welcome.

Hopefully when you clean yours there's not to many problems.

Luckily these power switches are on many other Boomboxes and can be found on parts units. I used one off of M90 parts box but just about any radio with push button power switch should work ;-)
