DHL shi**ing

Today I went on DHL site to check the costs, since one seller on eBay demands DHL only.

Application for cost and time calculating gives no cost, just time.

I call their customer service, give them data "package approx 5kg, 70x30x30cm (for mini bb), 1000km distance"... waiting

The operator says "since your package is of that size, we consider it as 13kg package, and that would be 240 euros"... goodbye

I've calculated afterwards, that even if they'd send courier with a passenger car, carrying my package only, they'd still earn at least 50 euros when costs for gasoline, highway and border taxes are summed.

I'm in Europe, no transatlantic shipping. The operator either gave me wrong info (despite sounding sure), or they have become plain greedy. According to them, it would cost you more to send one giraffe than one hippopotamus, despite the fact that hyppo weighs several times more, and naturally, requires more fuel/cost to be shipped.

EDIT: Just visited their site again, the application for calculation of time and costs is now working. The operator gave me the correct info - 240 euros for 5kg, 70x30x30cm package, 1000km distance.

No misunderstandings or wrong data, all double checked.
