Crown 850 vs 950

Does anyone have a pic of the 850 and 950 next to each other, or ethier or both next to any of the more common midsize sharp gf's would be really helpfull. Thanks.

I believe 850 has 20cm and 950 has 18cm but the 950 seems to be 20cm

i think the 850 sounds much better // bigger and deeper than the 950

still --the 950 does sound very good.

crown 950 = 6.5 inch woofers
crown 850 =8 inch woofers

crown 850 = bigger / louder .

Both are 5W/Ch boxes.

The 950 uses the same audio amp IC that the JVC M70 does, only not in BTL mode (The 950 has a single IC, the M70 has two). I'm not sure about the amp IC in the 850.

The 850 makes more BOOM from 5W because of the larger woofs, kinda like the Rising 20/20.

The tweets on the 850 look like cones, the 950 has weird metal-dome tweeters. My 950 has NO shortage of treble.

The 850 does have more boom, but the chassis is kind of lightweight, so eventually it vibrates

Yes, both use a sigle AN7145M. I have them both 850, 20cm/4ohm, 950, 16cm/3,2ohm. But the 850 eat 13,5v and 950 only 12v. Both have a great sound, but the 850 with 13,5v power supply have 20% more power to hit the 20cm speaker.
