It's sad that we were so close to preventing it but this reminds me of that saying I heard a few years back. We have to be right 100% of the time in apprehending the terrorists while they have to be right only once to cause such a disaster. Can anyone be right 100% of the time? I simply cannot watch those videos from that day on television. I just can't do it
Personally I feel there are 2 reasons why we haven't been hit again. One is very good intelligence efforts since 2001. Within the last year It does seem bizarre to me that a "war" has been relabeled an "Overseas Contingency Operation" (what does that even mean

). It's disturbing to me that some now are considering bringing up legal charges against CIA agents who have definitely prevented further attacks. Whatever they have to do to get such information is fine with me. Three thousand dead is not. If covert operatives have to worry about such exposure, who is going to do this vital work ? I feel such decisions have to be politically motivated without regard for our safety.
The second reason is the sheer logistics of pulling off something larger than that attack (which I think is their further intent). I really feel they are waiting for some things to be in place before we are hit again. For some reason,I'm thinking our government has different priorities now which scares me.I sure hope I'm wrong.
