Conion c100f: Japanese vs Korean

Ok not sure if this has ever been a topic but I was just wondering about these 2 boomers. I know the differences between the 2 but does anyone have any thoughts to these in a collection??? on the korean version we all know that 1st there are no analog meters, 2nd we know that deck 1 has less control buttons and that deck 2 does not have LEDs for the tape rotation. Are these the only differences and should this affect pricing between units

bill i have only seen the japanese and korean versions ,,jap version is the first generation and to me the best ,,the korean is a rerun but left some things out even thou its a good box to have i would still jump on the jap version , it was not built to the first generation spec ,,it does not mean its not a great box its more of rare than anything else price might reflect a bit lower depending the condition but still in the collection terms yes i would grab one to add it

I have been wanting one since early 80's but could not afford it, and now I want one for my collection but it seems my luck has been only to find Korean version available now since I'm ready to buy I truly love the gap version better bur the Korean looks nice too

bill they come up also as helix brand which i belive bobby has one of those so ebay should bring a conion soon as i have seen a few sometimes 2 or 3 at the same time on the bay ,, the only problem is that most are in real dire need of help the ones i have seen ,,i dreaded cassette door and bottom cassette drawer are always missing

There's one on eBay now but it looks like it will hit over $1200... Jap version... I know it seems like they go for around $500-$600 when needing attention. Anyway thanks

as ramon said -- helix = claitine = conion ...plus some other brands .

you WILL get a decent deal on one -
just dont get wacky if its missing the bottom tray

I know what you mean but patience will only be in your favor as Ira points out. I was very patient for long time then I got very lucky on a C100F, it wasn't perfect but it was complete and very reasonably priced.

Same here. I was once caught up in frantic bidding wars that always left me empty handed. Then the seas parted and I found one at an amazing deal. I am very glad I didn't fork over the kind of money I was prepared to spend.

Thanks for all the input guys...This is actually my 1st real large buy I think the most I have ever paid for a bbx was $250 for my Conion Silon 3 piece And that I believe I over paid for from a member on s2g through epay
