Hey all! New to the site and pretty new to Boombox collecting.
I just picked up a Conion C-100F for AUD$130 and I've stripped her down and given her a much needed bath and polish. She's come up really well but I've got a couple questions!
The switches are really pitted and in poor shape.....can these be re-chromed successfully?
And I'm missing the "mixing level" switch......anybody got one kicking about?
And can speakers be upgraded easily?
Sorry for the noob questions!

Thanks guys! Now if somebody could just explain to my girlfriend as to why it's absolutely necessary to leave boxes soaking in the bath I'd be winning ;) haha

Surprised me to find one local too. Just goes to show you never really know what people have laying about in their garages! A lucky score tho I must admit

Welcome MrMcblaster to Boomboxery.com. It's great to have another local Brissie member. We wre definately in need of a C100 for the local chapter :-)

James...;-)

Welcome!!!

Bloody good score for that price!!

Plastic can be rechromed but it is not cheap.......
Some places specialize in it, the place I contacted in Sydney a couple of years back wanted $30 per slider (from memory) for a gf9494.
If you wanna do each and every Knob and switch on a conion you'll be up for over 400 bones!!

Keep an eye on ebay, spares come up from time to time........
I have spares for tape deck 2 in the shed somewhere but cant remember what condition they're in. Happy to dig them out tho if you want em..........

Damn, didn't know a GF-9000 was that big.

You could try spraying the knobs with chrome paint from an auto parts store.

...so there's at least one c100 in brisbane. The only problem is that it's not at my place.

Scotty

When he told me I threatened to stab him.

When he told me where he found it ...well I just about went ballistic.

Colour me jealous.

We also need some full sized pics of that gorgeous silver Lasonic please MrMcBlaster.

Hey Alfie, the decks aren't working atm....tho in the clean a couple old belts dropped out so if it's any more than just belts I'll chase you up!

And Terry.......I've gotta admit I was a little hesitant to tell you just how close to home I scored this Conion....but don't worry my girlfriend beat me for leaving her in a hot car for 30min whole I admired your collection so I paid a price ;) lol

Some full size pics.........hopefully lol

Really regret not getting a few "before" pics.......there's a reason it was $130.....and it shows what can be done with a little bit of effortphoto 1 (12).JPGphoto 2 (4).JPGphoto 3 (2).JPGphoto 4 (3).JPGphoto 5 (1).JPG
