The LED lights on my clairtone 7978 were locked on and the mode 2 battery check / sleep switch was obviously broken. Inside a piece of the mode 2 switch was cracked off and rattling around inside the box. I was able to manually move the switch into the off position (was locked in battery check mode) and the LED jumped back to life.
This switch is not necessary to enjoy the boombox BUT it would be nice to replace it if it is out there and not a herculean effort.
Any suggestion / comments from the veterans out there?
