well after last weeks laying down the law and telling my band mate find a new singer or its over i got to meet with a pretty talented singer this day.
seems to be promising but i am pretty cautious.
its pretty frustrating times right now. thinking of selling up shop and shutting it down.
i mean one of the issues right now and it is a big one is the sheer ammount of vintage electronic gear being tossed in the trash.
why is this a problem is because the more parts units are discarded the less parts there is going to be for my gear.
this is not a good thing.

:agree: I really think it's as bad as we can imagine and at some point there will be very little left in existence. We've all talked to people about our vintage fetish and for me almost everyones response is "why would you want that old garbage" then they elude to buying some of the new gear that's available. Most people automatically think newer is better and old is useless, end of story!

Maybe our role in this is as teachers.

Almost everyone "into music" that sees and hears my M70 or Rising 20/20 wants one. This will certainly help keep old boomers out of the trash. Just demo your boombox and give a quick speech about the ultimate in recycling--fix and reuse! :-D

The few musicians that have heard my vintage synths have loved them. "Virtual" analog doesn't compare.

More and more, I see my role as patient educator when it comes to vintage electronics. New does not necessarily equal better!
