I know about a Aiwa and a Blaupunkt carry combo system. I just found a new case for the Blaupunkt unit - I gonna upload some pictures when this, my biggest carry combo, is complete and ready to play!

Thanks and best wishes

Yes - the Clarion is a car hifi system. They offered a case and a transformer to this system so you can use it at home. Clarion wrote in their broshure that this unit is as good as a big home stereo system ...

No, the Hitachi and the Blaupunkt are different systems.

Also the Blaupunkt case is much bigger (just found & bought exactly this case which is shown on your picture - the antenna is a car antenna, and the cover so air can get in to cool the amp is a Blaupunkt car-speaker cover! Very simple, but a hand made wooden case in excellent quality. Would love to know the price when new / for the case and the Blaupunkt Stereo system).

Very nice, Tom!

I would love to see that girl from Blaupunkt ad schlepping around that monster case.
Oh and my favourite is your marantz with horn style speakers!

Which one of these work on batteries? If I remeber correctly there was a 12V version of the Aiwa Carry Compo...

Battery:

Kenwood:
yes, but just for the head unit - you can't use the big amp, just the small amp in the head unit with the 2 built in speakers. Sound is very poor, but with the amp and the big speakers it's a real Hifi-unit!

Hitachi:
no battery don't know if it got a 12 volt input - just put it back in my storage again ... nice sounding unit!

Wega:
no, but it has a 12 volt input for all components / here is the option to put a accu-pack in the storage (saw that once, worked fine). Sound is very strong and powerful (by the way: I got one of these Wega units for exchange, if somebody is interested in send me a PM)

Marantz:
Yes, you could see the battery pack. The highlight are the ACTIV-horn speakers which sounds realy great. It's very small, as high as a pack cigarettes. (also here: got a second unit, without the flightcase for trade ...)

Panasonic:
for shure all of you know these unit - very popular one. It's for full outdoor use, 70 Watts of music-power and a lot of mix and echo possiblilitys makes this one to a mini PA-system.

Mars:
no, this is a home hifi unit with built in Wega-speaker system. 100 Watts of music-power can't play with a battery. Strong sounding unit and heavy as a rock!

Clarion:
no, but also here is a 12 Volt input.

Kenwood:
yes, this is a Walkman-speaker-combi (not activ speakers) and plays very clear with a great stereo stage. Would it have a more bass it would sound as a mini-hifi-combo.

Blaupunkt:
not shure if this one got a 12 volt input - just have the flight case now (the most important and rare thing). I will open a new tread when I finished this project with a soundcheck and photos.

But know back to my question:
Who own a carry combo which isn't in my collection - looking for infos about all different, other typs!

Best wishes - TOM

- The Mars was also available silver colored (I saw it once) but it didn't look as cool as the black one ...
- I can't tell you if they are running just on 220 volt - I just put them all back in my storage - sorry!

Nobody out there who owns a other type of carry combo? So is this the end of my carry-combo collection and it is "complete"?

If you call this a carry combo.... :-/

It's a true component system, but it's not in the same league.....

I also own this unit, it's the Siemens (Sanyo) RS 806, the biggest unit they ever produced. Sounds good, just a bit bass is missing - for my taste. Never hear the Sanyo, same unit but with a other speaker system. It's a classic 3-piecer, but not what I would call a carry combo. For my understanding a carry combo must have a separate box, a case which is around the combonents ...

But thanks for your upload!
Best wishes - TOM
