John DeLorean was known for having a fondness for the stuff - indeed he was said to have spent several hundred thousands of Pounds of the British Government's money on his favourite form of recreation - and, when he was publicly arrested at the factory in the UK (Belfast, just across the causeway in the British part of Ireland), the owners of the very few inferior Renault Alpine AKAs that were sold all went out and searched their cars' glove holes very, very carefully in case the man himself had been in the car for a quick scratch 'n' sniff session.
What's "BTTF?"

so it refers to something completely different and you meant cocaine and not coca cola, oops
Yes. Despite it's "Back To The Future" roots, this car was (is) just as famous for being used to transport more money in cocaine than the movie may have made in it's first run. John DeLorean was using the money from the "white gold" to finance the production which was hemorraging (bleeding) money at an incredible rate. That is why John DeLorean went to prison and the factory shut down. :-)

I love the Delorean! One of the sexiest slow cars on the planet and its all a damn shame.

If they would have had a V8 in that car. It would have sick!

If Jon D. wouldn't have snorted the company, it would have been sick!

If it could have made it just a few more years, it could have been SICK!
