I shipped a Bluetooth module to a BBXery member on December 23rd 2015 to Australia....... It just got there, WTF!!!!! Thank god most of you are reasonable people to deal with and he understood what was going on and being patient....

51 DAYS!

Meanwhile, I had withheld my end of the bargain and sent a SECOND BT module a little over a week ago that is taking a different path than the original module according to the tracking.

I don't care if they held it in customs or not, 51 days with no contact or update on the status/location of a shipment is horse ****. If they are going to hold it in customs, any customer should be notified.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Once the USPS (and even FedEx/DHL/UPS) turns it over to the receiving country, things start to get hairy depending on the level of postage. I have shipped tons of stuff overseas and on average it's two weeks if it's a letter. If it's a package, things change up a bit. I don't know if they elected to scan your package or not, but I had one that got held up to Korea simply because it was declared as electronics, thus, given more scrutiny. As a matter of fact, the very Pioneer CK-5F I have came from Australia, via air, and still took almost to arrive. Guess where it got stuck?

How long was it held in Chicago?

Australia is a crappy place to ship to or from. Especially with the holidays. Honestly, i wouldn't have shipped it till after the holidays. That probably screwed it up.

I'be bought boxes, parts and all from Korea and Japan and received it in 4 to 6 days. I thought items from Korea they would really scrutinize.

Some small items can get stuck somewhere for no reason. That must be the case with Joe's item. It may not have anything to do with customs.

Joe's talking about the Coast BT module he sent me. According to his post office, the item ended up with US customs. The PO said that it can take up to 45 days to deliver a parcel when customs nabs it.

This is the first time anything was this late in literally dozens of shipments from the US.

I appreciate your efforts Joe, you're a good man!

James.... :-)

Sitting here reading this, all sorts of scenarios are running through my mind. One of us needs to get a job at customs and infiltrate that place to find out WTF!

Are they holding electronics in overseas shipping for patents issues?
Do they think it's a bomb?

or the more likely scenario...

It fell between the cracks do to incompetents.

The strange thing is, I have shipped radio's to Germany that showed up in 10 days and birthday presents to my mother in Illinois that took 30 days. I swear there is no rhyme or reason :-/

It seems like shipping to and from Australia and the United States is the big issue. I have never heard any members complain about shipping from Japan to Australia

Glad it showed up, NOW I can't wait for the thread that explains what JJ is going to mod up with that BT reciever! :w00t:

:eek:fftopic:
Jimmy, Joe turned me onto these Coast BT receivers and out of all the ones I have used, these connect the fastest and are the most reliable. I have one in a modded TRC-920 that I use ALL THE TIME!
