People who have a collection of boomboxes can never go through depression.

I find happiness in rotating boxes in my collection and shining them.

There is always something to do with them.

The day I lose the fun of enjoying my boxes i will be a very misearble human being!

Our mind in programmed to enjoy these toys and have fun with it!

I think it's still possible to go through a depression, even with a BIG boombox collection

I have to agree. When I was younger, nothing seemed to phase me...

But life has it's up's and downs.

Sharing music, cleaning radio's, repairing....what ever it is you get from it, it is very healthy IMHO. I can say my radio's and this site have got me through a few low times.

I think it's good to have a hobby that can distract you from lifes troubles even for a little while.

This year has been a great boombox year. Not because I've landed stacks of new ones, but because I landed my personal grail - Sanyo M9998K. I can listen to this thing for hours on end, never tiring of that sweet bassy sound! That's pure therapy for me! :stereo:

I also enjoy my time here at Boomboxery.com spending time with fellow enthusiasts who 'get it'.

Keep those boxes rocking!!

James.... :-)

oh trust me if you have to sell them to pay bills that can be depressing, i seem to get more use out of my cheaper boxes and the sweet part is they aint' worth squat so no threat of having to sell em' lol. also lately i put more miles on my custom boxes than anything ,getting to where i don't even use the empty shells anymore i just build it all from scratch easier than trying to stuff guts into spaces that dont work too good. when your poor all these boxes dancing around you 24/7 can be depressing lol.

Hi Floyd, I have been having to do the same to some extent.
I'm lucky to have some duplicates and I had amassed a surpkus so I dint feel real bad selling a few to pay some bills.
I did kind of want to restore a few of my duplicates but heck-1 nice speciman isn't to bad.It also does make room for more future grails! :)
Yes I hear you Floyd, not workinv for 2 months has been very hard! :(
Better than selling my cars!
