My most wanted Lasonic is here!!
I've had long black box fever for months now, been collecting pics of different ones, Lasonic L-30 is one of my favorites.
I had no idea from the pictures it was so big. The handle is extra long. .there is a tuning light that changes color when you reach a station!
It arrived packed by a non collecter it would seem, so there are bits to glue and cracks to tighten up. and I will be looking for two lasonic L-30 pause buttons.
But it's all mine now and I couldn't be happier. I feel like I don't need any other box now... but who am I kidding.

LOVE IT ! iv'e owned 5 of these over the years i wish i still had them ,luckily you got the first model with the chrome handle ends ,these may not be hi fi but they sound like lasonics and thats fine with me .

yes the later version doesn't have the chrome handle risers .

They sound just as loud as a TRC-931, but - stating the obvious - lack the bass of its bigger brother.

the l30 wants to have bass i just think the cabinets are to small for those woofers .

I think if those woofers were in wooden cabinets, the 931 would be in serious trouble.

Lasonic woofers - either big or small - kick ass!

When I set it down on the floor the bass is quite proper.

Yeah, but the bass from almost any box will sound better when the box is on the floor - especially near a corner.

But again, how does it sound in comparison to the TRC-920?

Ok OK.
I didn't want to say it doesn't quite measure up to the sharp bass sound of the 920, cause I'm still putting it on a pedestal.
But it doesn't quite measure up to the 920. but it's louder and the it's got enough bass and highs to impress a floc of pretty women.

Wanted to show a similar german branded box called "Tristar RR 5645" it´s same like your lasonic just different colors and black woofer (White ones are much nicer)
There´s also a stereo branded as "Schmid" and "Intercord" using same woofers like lasonic and both have those "disco lights"

Add: I See a difference. Mine hase an "Echo" Knob and just 2 Bands......
