made this with the help of 2 teenage grandsons
its a total blast to work outside in january !!

Looks beautiful Ira. You always do great work with your wood it seems. Post up more pics as it starts getting used. Especially next time one of Charlies Angels stops by.

the lucky part was this ......

its a severe federal law against disturbing seagrapes and sea grass on oceanfront sand dunes-
but the EPA gave us that one 12' x 12' spot which was an empty 'wasteland ' -
the EPA approval came thru because their position is the those WOODEN support posts
are considered ' structure ' - ( no metal or concrete is allowed )
which actually help to keep the dune in place-
for all the rest of that empty area -we are required to plant more seagrapes

its interesting to note --that although individual citizens can have deeds to oceanfront properties-
its ONLY the federal government that can decide exactly what can be built or planted on the sand
and the dunes

That's really interesting. So what was different about that exact spot that they considered it a "wasteland?"

Or did you woo them with your elderly charm and good looks into letting you build it?
