Good god man I can't come close to that awesome concert even if I list everyone I've ever attended.

the total has been estimated at 400,000 attendees but they let everyone in without counting as it just got way too crazy

I had tickets to see them that tour,I was 15 and was offered $300 for them and I thought well I will catch them next time ,shows how smart I wasn't ..

and for those that don't know before they returned Drummer John Bonham died and I never had a chance to see them ,one of my biggest regrets

Hardly ever go to concerts, not really my thing.

Last one was back in the late 80's when TAVARES visited RAF (USAF) Lakenheath Liberty Club and played a surprise gig.

Nice intimate atmosphere as it was the club rather than a stadium. :-)

Boom Shaka Laka

Requiem Æternam
One of the best shows I've attended was also one of the first: the Mamas and Papas in 1966. Great to hear those "California Dreamin" harmonies up close and personal!

Latest was Mew. You haven't heard power until you've heard "Am I Wry? No" done live... with projected graphics!

Super fresh! Did you have any trouble taking the D90 in? Usually, the security guys are all over stuff like that.

They said their policy was "no pro lenses." Got in with it, no issue. We even ended up with upgraded seats about 15 rows in from the stage because my friend's fiance's mom was a security supervisor. She had also given us the upfront knowledge of the camera policy. I can't believe the seat upgrade. We were in the $300 per seat section,

Anyway, if I got too close to the stage, there was one security woman there who shooed me away a couple of times telling me that my lens was too much telephoto. She would have kicked me out if I had persisted. I saw her getting really irate with some other people...

I guess as they age, the band doesn't like closeups being shot of them

my most memorable concert was about 3 decades ago --

there was supposed to be an EIGHT super-star cast for the financial benefit
of comedian frankie fontaine ( known for his jackie gleason TV show gigs)

due to a severe boston snowstorm --
SEVEN stars did not show up -- :sadno:

that left just ONE little guy to entertain us --
he promised that he would still TRY to give us all -
all our moneys worth.

that one little guy was frank sinatra --
he sang his heart out for almost 3 hours-
and talked with ALL of us during his short breaks

thats a great friend and an incredible concert

Cool, Ira! I was fortunate enough to see Francis in concert back in 1992. It was in Evansville, Indiana, and it was simply amazing. I've been told by many that I was born 70 years too late, because of my love and appreciation for the "old" music. Rattling off the names of my favorites would take a while, but Sinatra is one of those who's in a league of their own.

What impressed me the most was that Bill Miller, Sinatra's longtime pianist, was still playing with Sinatra after 40 years. When I heard the first few notes of "One For My Baby"... goosebumps. I still have the ticket stub, a concert T-shirt, and the morning paper with the review. For me, it was a once in a lifetime event that (I hope) will never be forgotten.

thats a voice you will never forget --
i am so glad you got to hear sinatra sing.
-----------------------------------------

---another voice that will last forever in my memory was ray charles-
it wasnt close up and REAL like in the small sinatra room --

instead -- it was a free summer outdoors big city concert -
-with what seemed
like everybody in the world was there -- :w00t:

and all SCREAMING --
but still................................................
it was RAY

Here's one you guys might not know.

Several years ago I saw a concert where they only sold about 30 or 40 tickets so everybody was in the first two rows, it was like a private concert just for us.

The artists were Peppino D'agostino and Stef Burns, they made a very cool album together and were touring on it. Stef Burns is a kick ass guitarist who has played for many major bands including Huey Lewis and the News, Sheila E, Pablo Cruise, Y & T plus more. At the start of the concert Stef joked "welcome to my living room" because there were so few in the audience. It didn't stop them from giving a kick as little concert and some screaming guitar playing. Stef is out of the Bay Area so he can be found in or around the Bay Area often.
