Hello to all, I have just joined this Boomboxery Community so please be gentle with me & my appologies in advance if these questions have already been asked before.
I have just aquired a very nice Hitachi TRK-8290E but some / all of the belts look like they need replacing. I have semi dissasembled the unit & can see 4 belts, so after searching on ebay I have found an international seller for 3 of the belts, the flat capstan, FF & Tape counter....my confusion is there is also what appeared to be a rewind belt going from the motor to a central pulley wheel which has perished & wrapped itself around the motor pulley....looking in the relevant Boomboxery Belts forum I read: TRK-8290H Belt, Flywheel FRX10.5, Belt SCX7.0, & Belt, Counter SCY6.0 so I am none the wiser with only seeing 3 belts listed. The Hitachi Service Manual shows 4 belts in the cassette mechanism exploded view labeled 30, 31, 32, & 33 on pages 23 - 25 (attached). Could someone put me straight on which is which and whether a belt code I have of "SCX5.5" is the rewind belt I mentioned.
Also, can anyone recommend a seller who can sell me a complete set of the 4 belts. Thanks...
