I've recently started collecting cds out of frustration with streaming services. I love physical media so far but I usually just listen through the car cd player.
so I've been looking to get something portable for home listening. I'd like a boombox that has some bass. I don't have much space in my apartment so the kaboom I saw on FB marketplace is out of the question.

these are the two models I've been eyeing:
- sony cfd 8
- sanyo mcd z3

again i'm a complete beginner so any advice on these 2 models, specs to pay attention to, buying secondhand, etc would be much appreciated :)
thanks!

Well, if it comes to CD, the Kaboom are a great option although they are a bit weak in the midrange. Only on the models DP-100 and DP-200, you can tweak the mids a bit to get the best out of it. And these two models are a tiny bit smaller than the regular Kabooms so maybe they might fit?

If that still is too big the second option would be from the Panasonic RX line. I only own the Panasonic RX-ED70 which is small but also a bit weak. I read a lot about the Panasonic RX DT 610, 680, 75, 707, 909 or the RX ED models. But (sadly) I don't own any of these so I can't really say how they sound. And these might be to big, too. Maybe someone else can recommend a smaller, good sounding Panasonic model.

oh yes I was messaging a seller about the rx dt707 but unfortunately someone else bought it quickly. I do see a rx dt505 available, I will look into it.

These Panasonic Cobra top boomboxes are excellent and many if not most have CD players these are excellent boom boxes especially the rxdt 707 I used to own one when it was new and it was an expensive boombox and sounds great.

thx all for the suggestions! still bummed that I couldn't get the 707 so maybe I'll wait a little longer to see if anything else pops up in the next few months. I don't need anything too fancy, just for at-home listening. one of the nicer eggs maybe.

Look for that Philips AZ2555 or AZ2558 (same thing)...........it usually goes for cheap, but it sounds good
