As I clean my eggs! I have a miserable Lennox sound CD-101 that I bought at a yard sale last year for 1.00 and I just got one at Goodwill yesterday for 2.49.
Mow I know they're nothing to brag about but with a little blowing-yes blowing hard at the wheels and pulleys and belts the cassette is now fine!!(out of de-oxit!)
These have cd/am/fm/cassette and now everything works and the new one didn't have battery cover but now I have 2 of these and I have a perfect one now.
But for 3.49 for the 2 it keeps me busy at times/I just like working on em',even if they are eggs.
The sound really isn't to bad for a cheap egg.
Now I truly have a shed radio for my brother!!
Even if it doesn't have a battery cover.
I'm taking the cassette cover off of my old one because the new one has a scratch on the cover.
I also have the tuner dial cover which was missing on my old one.Wa-la as good egg with very nice condition now and a beater for the shed.
I just had to tell you my wonderful egg conditioning I was doing today.
Have a good one-GB.

I hear ya, it is great to dive into a little cleaning and maint... I will be honest one of my favorite things to do is clean my boxes, then put the covers back on 'em (there in my basment)....

I just like radios, I have my preferences, but I just love how the music coming from them makes me feel!

I know where your coming from Ghettoboom.I appreciate someone who sees value in the full range of boxes out there, despite their size or year of make. It's interesting also to consider that they all do basically the same thing only with differing levels of fidelity. We may have favorites but they all can provide the same critical functions, even if any given example were the only box we had.Even better they really are all special in their own way to the hardcore lover of these devices.

One good thing about acquiring a lot of inexpensive used boxes is that you have examples to practice on and experiment with.Imagine to yourself how much that $1.00 box cost when new.If you add this up for all of your finds just think how much less you spent than if you had bought them when they were new!

Hi Jovie-Thanks for that-All boomboxes are basically good, except for some of the newer stuff which is just so small(especially speaker size!) and not to appealing to the eyes.
I like it to because there is always extra parts-antennas and cords and what-not.
Have a great week-GB. :-)
