our ocean here was just that wild --but the winds were even much more brutal --
about 40 mph-
my friend is an extreme nutcase --never should have been out there that day -
not with a surfboard -- and NFW with a huge kite and his surfboard --
anyway --i usually take videos of our local hero kite-surfers -
but THAT day --had sandstorms and salt water spray --
that would have murdered my camera-
so--the guy takes off --within moments -- he is at wind speed --
and getting the most incredible 25- 35 foot airs we ever saw --
even landing a few --
but --the winds were far too strong for him to have any directional control -
so - he was way out of site in about 3 minutes --
and no way to get back here --but to crash on the beach and walk all the way home !!!

none of us saw any action after that --
but he said --once he was a few miles away -- up by the huge private
oceanfront mansions --the conditions became perfect for him to land about 20 airs-
30-40 foot high !!!

anyway --- a short mile away from my trailer park -
lies ' billionaires row ' -
its a few miles of magnificent HUGE $$$ estates --
each with several acres on the beach -
and all with ulra-extreme privacy and security
( these spots sell for 25 to 40 million )

often -- the owners rent them out - to wealthy 'important' folks-
who want some serious ALONE TIME-
these ' hidaways' have the best of all worlds --
a total private island atmosphere --
yet - on our mainland and 10 minutes from a major international airport

that my friends surfboard actually BLEW AWAY !!!
and then his kite blew apart :'-( :'-(
on that kind of surf --there were no boats out there to save him
by great skill and awesome luck --the winds turned on-shore -
and he was only 50 yards out when he crashed
so --he and his broken kite --land safely on the beach -

a person he described as " a skinny little black kid " (from a distance)
comes off the closest mansion porch -- holding a mini ( like 18 " ) umbrella-
extra weird to have an umbrella --with no sun // no rain and too much wind to keep
it open

as you might can guess --it was MJ --
he ran down to the shoreline --to ask my friend if he was ok-
or needed any help-
and he said that he loved watching the giant 'air show'
and saw his big crash-
and that he had never seen or heard of kitesurfing before
( odd ?? from cali )
my friend was cool --
and told MJ that he enjoyed watching him also

of course --when he got back --we did believe him about landing 40 foot airs --
but we all said he was " mixed-up " about the MJ BS 
until a few days later --when we saw the MJ pictures --
leaving --from the local private airport
