Anyone own one of those new propane powered weed eaters?

My Dad was telling me that craftsman is selling a propane powered weed eater ( string trimmer), I looked into it and it is a re-badged version of one made by LEHR, link : http://www.golehr.com/index.shtml I read a few reviews so far pretty good. I'm due for a new weed eater and was wondering if anyone here might have one already?

When my 2-stroke breaks, I might look into them... good idea in all honesty... what about the metal canister disposal though? :huh:

The only thing I was reading about re-filling them was some people were complaining they weren't able to fill the tank 100%, but someone else said to col the tank before having it re-filled than it will go to 100%. That would be a good idea to save money to re-fill the small tanks from a full size, probably cheaper to have a full sized tank filled than to keep buying the small one's. I'm going to look into the trimmer I need a weed eater and have had a lot of problesm with the cheap one's I keep buying, you always have the risk of the gas gumming up the carb, the propane one is supposed to eliminate that problem.

You're right about the cooling the bottle before recharging. I just read it on a website. I used to do that with my nitrous bottles too!


I would def try the new tech. on my next purchase.
