Hi guys,

I am looking to purchase a Unisef SZ5000 shortl and I was hoping to get the unit refurbished. By the sounds of things it doesn't have anything major wrong with it but theres a few issues.

The tapedecks play audio however this is muffled and low volume

The power button is touch and go and sometimes you have to press it several times for the unit to come on

The line in has a few issues and the audio is extremely loud through the speakers when ever you use line in

Im also hoping someone can clean all the contacts on sliders and switches and give the unit the once over.

I live in Hull, but I am happy to travel within reason to deliver this for service work to be done.

If anyone can help let me know and we can sort something out!

May lead to more servicing work on two other units I have coming as well...

Many thanks guys.

I'm a bit busy moving house to do any repairs I'm afraid but might be able to in the future :)
Aha - outgrown your boomroom at last - knew you'd have to move at some time soon to accomdate all your new goodies

Haha no worries mate :)

TBH guys I have sorted 90 percent of the problems myself in the end.. I have got rid of all the scratchy audio
I have even got the audio levels up to a good level so the led blinky lights all flash now as expected.

the only thing that very occasionally happens is you have to press the power button once or twice for the unit to come on.. but even that is a lot less after a good electrical clean of the terminals.

I do have a GF8989 though which may need new belts and also has a weird issue where the stop button wont stop the tapes sometimes... any one care to have a go at sorting that one? lol

:D

Aaron, you still selling your Philips this weekend matey? :D
