Hi everyone,

This morning I decided to go into town early to have something to eat before starting work. Whilst in the bakery waiting to be served, I could hear some quiet, but very bassy music coming from a back room. I popped my head over the counter to see what was making the noise. All I could see was a little egg radio perched high on a shelf. My obvious first thoughts were "They must have a big stereo playing round the back".

After I'd been served, I kept looking as far round the back of the shop as I could, trying to not appear suspicious, but couldn't see a stereo. I just had to know what was making that sound. I asked one of the staff what was playing the music, and she pointed to the little egg. Well, I think you can understand, I did giggle a bit, and said "Oh yeah!" And she looked at me strange. She told me it really was that radio that was playing. She went over and turned it round towards me and the sound went clearer! :w00t:

I told her that I was very impressed with the sound, and asked her if I could bring in another radio for her and take that one. She asked her boss, and her boss said it would be OK as long as the replacement also had a CD player. Luckily I have a few spare radios I've picked up over the years, I just bought them for their replacement antennas. I had just enough time to head home and back with a replacement radio. I went back into the bakery and asked for the boss. She looked at my egg radio, asked to try it, and when she had seen it working, let me take the one they had. I couldn't believe I'd managed to get a model with such great sound, and it plays CDs!! :-D

I took it to work with me and left it in the canteen. I tried it out properly when I got home, and WOW, what a sound! :w00t: Its bass is better than both my Sanyo M9990 and GE Blockbuster, from such tiny woofers! I've been cleaning it up since I got home, as it was covered in sticky kitchen grease.

As I rule I don't really go for eggs, but this one is really something! It blows most of my boomboxes away sound-wise!!

Here is the new addition to the collection, my Alba KW-66C!

Is this a april fools post ?
Can't be, it was posted at 22:28 BST so it was 10 1/2 hours too late to be an April Fool joke. Besides, doesn't a joke have to be funny? Maybe there was some sort of mind-altering substance in the sandwiches in that shop? I've often wondered about what goes into a Beefy Bake.......

Now that you've found a box that looks like a purse maybe my GF will want to start carrying one around.
Looks fantastic but why does it only play tapes backwards :-)

What the.... You mean that Ayrton that I just wired straight into your current account is in fact for some egg and not the secret to eternal life? That does it; I'm repossessing the unicorn.
