This weekend was the first time I had to use my M70. :-D

My wife and I packed up the car early Friday day and drove 2 1/2 hours down to my Dad's girlfriends house in Anaheim (home of the Angel's  ).

As we were loading up the car, I laid the M70 on the back seat and my wife says "that radio looks small compared to the ones you normally bring". I said..."Your right baby, I need to buy some more BIG radio's!"

Her come back was...."do you really need to take a radio with you every where you go?"

She would soon learn the answer to that! :-O

Friday night we hung out at my Dad's g/f's place, but Saturday night we went to my Dad's g/f's sisters house for a BBQ and cards.

There were 6 women and 3 guys, so the 3 guys all went down stairs to play some pool. I had my radio with me and one of the guys asked if I wanted to hear his band, I said "Sure". He reached for his iPod and I said, "you want to pump it through my radio?"

OH YEAH...that's when the party began. We started pumping his tunes down stairs, having a few beers while the ladies played cards up stairs. After his band's album played through we switched over to some 9 Inch Nails. The next thing you know...one after another...here come the girls... :-D  Beers were being pasted around, girls were dancing....it was suddenly a party

To me, that is really no surprise. My wife and Dad thought it was cool....but this being my first time out with the M70, one thing did surprise me...

My M70 is the Japanese 100V. So I did not bring a power cord. I also was using my rechargeable batteries. But I was using radio's all week and never really got to charge them fully. The M70 has a battery gauge on it  and it registered the batteries as full for the most part. The whole time we were Rockin' Out I was stressed the batteries would die and the party would go with it.

I was FLOORED on how well the M70 did on batteries! :w00t: The gauge barely moved. For a SUPER LOUD radio, this thing SIPS batteries! We had it on for at least 5 hours. No issues at all.

Well, once again....you guys are right....the M70 is a GREAT radio and I'm so glad I followed everyone's advise and picked one up!

I also want to thank Superduper again for his top notch work on the Volume Slider board. this things sounded and worked flawless :superduper:

Sounds like you guys had a blast!!!
I have to agree that the M-70 is hands down he ultimate party boombox.
1. for its size / portability
2. power output
3. its efficient use of batteries.
4. Chicks Dig It!!!
I had my M-71 at the pool saturday for about 4 hours (still have battery life to spare)
Cant go wrong with an M-70 Chris !!! GR8 Choice

I'm so jealous. Had a grad party for my daughter this weekend but no one wanted to listen to music, well besides me and kids... But no other adults were interested :-(. I had a choice of over 50 boomers and couldn't even play at low volume.
I went through this as a kid with folks telling me to turn volume down... Thank god for Walkmans and walking around with my Boombox or I would have had a boring childhood!!!! Lol

On radio or in the aux it is good on batteries but, when the cassette is running, it will go through them much fastter.

Sounds like a great weekend!!

Chris, don't be a woosie about the 100V transformer in the Victor M70. Bro, I'm telling you I have had mine on for over 10 hours straight playing music with NO issues using 120V plug. Plug it in! :breakdance:

I have used this radio plugged into the wall, but mostly just for testing.

BUT....I didn't even have a cable with me!
