well gang its been coming for a while now but ive totally lost interest in eighties boxes.....ive given away or sold all of mine now-but heres the thing.....im deep into nineties boxes instead!so far i have a jvc rv-b55 mini kaboom and ah hitachi 3d82-the kaboom was £5 but the hitachi was £10,my max limit for a portable in the past.both offer excellent bass and great looks, and its an area in the past ive swayed away from, these 90s items.now i cant get enough.....got my mate lookin out for a nice cobra now too!!!!any one out there just collect nineties portables,or am i unique? :hmmm:

A few times one cobra as avaliable in my favourite thrift store (many times 707s with some issues in cosmetic).
But maybe shipping fees from here gonna kill you...

Cheers.

I would not call 90's boxes boxes........They are eggs or 3-pieces. Can't think of any 1-piece box from the 90's that was traditional box-shaped.

Someone told me that the Lasonic 935 or 975 was made is 1990 or 1991-ish? Is that true? :dunce: If so, then there you go. I'm not leaving my 80's boxes for "Nuffin" :nonono:

hey hardmen,yeah shippings a biatch!
and i know what the rest of you guys are saying, but its a combination of lack of finds, and many other reasons that ive decided to call it quits with them sadly.

Sorry Reli and bobby and everyone,i hate starting trouble (with a passion) but when i see things like this,it chaps my ass,i bought a box described as "good condition" and just needed a belt change, and recieved a total right off heap of trash, the seller on ebay was selling it for retrohead,i told the seller i wanted to send it back for a refund,or to help retrohead i would accept a partial refund of £30 so i could fix it up,but that was before i saw the extent of the damage to the tape deck motherboard due to acid spillage,i then got accused of trying to rip him off so i could keep the box and get some of my cash back aswell, the seller begged me not to open a case against him with paypal and he promised he would get my cash back from retrohead, but i have'nt recieved a penny..
if i dont get a refund i will start a thread in the appropriate section just to give my side of the story, the pics you will see of the box are shocking..

80's boxes are classic and tuff, 90's were built lighter due the boards inside whichs breaks down quicker.

The only 90's boxes I like are the Panasonic Platinum series and the JVC Kaboom boxes.
