I was testing out the FM stereo portion of the RX-A2 & at first, I figured the bottom half of the band was malfunctioning 'cause I couldn't get any stations in, when the pointer is at the left side of the dial. I looked more closely & realized the band covers 76 to 108 Mhz which is very unusual.

My question is, how many radios have that type of FM coverage? Are there any others & if so, does the Panasonic RX-6400 have the same tuner?

Thanx,

It must be a Japanese Domestic model or a model made for the whole world.

The FM broadcast band in Japan uses 76.0 to 90 MHz (from wikipedia). Most JDM boxes have FM from 76 to 90 only. Few JDMs has 76 to 108, which will become useful when it comes to collectors like us.

Yep, looks like they covered all the tuning bases with that puppy.

90 to 108 is for TV sound, hence most domestic Japanese boxes only having coverage of 76 to 90MHz, the radio band.
One of my Walkmen has full coverage from 76 to 108 and it's marked up "TV Sound" past 90MHz.
