I think we need to see this in real world use before we get to jazzed about the claim. Hopefully it comes close and truly starts a new generation of fuel efficient cars.

its forty grand.
i still am a little skeptical about this particular ev. it would be cool if it comes to the road in the way they are promising.
saying its going to save 7500 dollars a year in gas is all good and fine.
but i think the car most likely is going to have other costs involved with it too.
i mean lets face it the maker is going to try to make it sound like its basically free.
lithium ion batteries are still pretty hard to apply to big things like cars. there is a real possibility for problems there but hey. i am happy to see them back into at least trying to put something out.
i think to be honest i would have to say there is a lot of reasons why the ev has been stalled out over the last decade.
i wont go into those but it is hi time to get the things out and on the road again.
i think i would buy a sparrow before i would by one of those tho.

It's all electric and only got a 40 mile range. The gas motor is only to recharge the battery. The 230 mile/gallon rating might be possible. The reason is that it doesn't take into consideration that the car will need to be plugged in every night and this is just gas consumption. Electric bill is extra.

I'm with Ira - screw the murderers.
My office is 7 miles from home, so one charge should last one day. But I wonder what the electric bill is going to be like.

ira 1 buck no way you are talking about a big charger and that battery pack is not a rc battery pack, me i would do away with the gas engine and have it self charge though a generator added to the wheels as it moves it charges   :w00t:
