Help finding parts for Victor RC-M70

Hey guys, new to this forum site, just purchased a Japanese JVC RC-M70 as the title implies, but it is missing the front fascia cover over the cassette door, any idea where I can find a replacement? I looked on eBay to no avail. Any recommendations are appreciated.

eBay UK Boombox and Walkman price drops, eBay scraps sellers fees in UK Oct 2024.

They trailed this in Germany earlier in the year and now it's here so maybe. I think it's in response to a service which is popular in Europe called Vinted, which now allows the sale of electronics, think they were eating ebays lunch as the seller is charged no service fees.

eBay UK Boombox and Walkman price drops, eBay scraps sellers fees in UK Oct 2024.

No final sales fees? I'll have to see if ebay US is considering that. I was watching a JVC M70 on ebay last week, and it sold for only $260 USD. I was quite shocked.

...out on two pins (like youre unplugging a smartphone from the stereo, but the stereo isn't switched off- bzzzzzzztztztzzzzzztztztt) your hitachi is able to direct line in. The same as the JVC M70 L (european- Din, but no line) and JVC M70 JW (USA and other countries- real RCA jack with line in)

JVC RC-838 Repair Balance Treble/Bass Sliders

I've repaired slider boards on the JVC RC-M70 and the RC-M838 for many members over the past decades with good results. Usually folks send just the slider board to me which on the M70 is fairly easy to remove, but on the 838, it's removal is rather delicate and easy to damage both the slider...

Help identifying this box. Bit of a challenge unless you had one.

An m70 has way more inputs on the side. It doesn't look deep enough to be a tv boom box, then again never had a tv boombox. The two labels on the back might be a clue. Don't see that often

    Beginner Needing Guidance

Maybe I am biased, but I would think a properly working JVC M70 could be had for around 500. Probably not going to find one mint for 500, especially on eBay, but IMO eBay prices are way inflated. The important thing to note on these are the alps slider controls. You would want to ensure they are...

    Beginner Needing Guidance

Thanks for the insightful answer. Hypothetically, could I switch out the woofers in the lasonic to a more crisp and high quality option whilst keeping the same shell? Ik it probably is a lot of work but I love the looks of them. Truly, my priority is sound quality. That’s why I own tekton and...

...near the level of boomboxes that were released by large mainstream manufacturers — one peek inside will reveal this. If you can find a jvc rc-m70 for that price, that would be a great starting point but it won’t have the visual attraction of the Lasonic. This may sound like I’m bashing the...

    JVC m90 vs Victor m90

...a version that is very dark gray. The factory description is that these are urethane laminated cones. They are blue paper cones (like on the M70) but they have a urethane plastic layer that is bonded with the paper on the front side, presumably for better weather protection and improved...

    Wanted JVC M70

The US boxes have the Aux In, while for most models including m70, the Europe versions have Din In - which I'm not sure can work just with a cable adaptor if you want to plug in your phone / laptop / sound card. The Japanese boxes can be imported for a lower overall price but they have FM only...

    JVC M71 tape play issue

Capstan shaft clearance is normally 1.00 mm to 1.50 mm. I've worked on M70 deck many times and totally swapped a deck mechanism without electrical components from our caution. The deck on my M70 collections had a problem with the record button not going down and stay there. Later I fixed that...

    JVC M71 tape play issue

I had an M70 and an M71 and both had the cracked retainer that Transistorized referred to. Both were the ones under the capstan flywheel. If you look in BBL48's picture, both of those round wheels with the three tipped metal pieces are what we're referring to. They have springs underneath the...
