Hello Members and Followers,
im proud of my new old Crown 950. But theres a thing that i dont like. My 850 from Crown looks much better and
fells better with full metal knobs. So thats the reason why i made my own full metal knobs for the Crown 950.
Plastics are not my favorite.....So cause...
Well he purchased my crown850 for $50 less than I was asking. No biggie but he had it for 4 days then messaged me that deck worked fine but on 4th day kept auto stopping. I explained I had fully restored it with new belt and pinch roller and cleaned, greased and demagnatized head. I had no...

I live in Oregon and have honestly yet to find a fellow boombox collector here. Thrift shops in my area are pretty desolate when it comes to electronics, it's usually just clothes. Nice to hear you've gotten lucky in your endeavors. The Rising 20/20 is a killer boomer, don't understand how I...
^ Yep. You can usually find a decent working M70 for under $300, but it may need a little TLC. But if you have your heart set on it, don't overpay just to get one - I see some sellers on eBay that have them confused with M90's and/or used cars.
You beat me to it! :w00t:
The 20/20 (&...
...M70's are hard to find.. I think we dont have any. (Maby some collectors)
But yea, you can go far with 250$! Rising 20/20 or SRC-2005, Crown850-950 and Goldstar TSR-800 to name a few. They are big cool looking boomers with a decent sound. Pretty bassy too!
Actually most i have paid for a...
Nice Lee lad, you need a 980 mate, best crown of the lot apart from it's in the style of the 850, god i want a 970 man but you will be leaving me skint this month mate but well worth it :-)
Hello everyone,
i have a crown850 i noticed that the left speaker sounds weaker then the right speaker if i play with the balance knob.
my question is what it could be i spray it with contact cleaner
Thanks!
Not really bought much recently as I've been busy with my jukebox and I'm at a stage with my collecting where I'm getting pickier and pickier lol. Anyway, I couldn't resist this rare Crown as it's a really beauty. I have the 850 and the 950 and they're two great boxes. Hadn't seen a 945 come up...
Scott had it as well before me. I believe I sold it to someone on the forum here but cant remember who
These radio's sure do get around!
This thing looks amazing!
To me, this is the quintessential 80's Boombox design  Everything my eyes crave.
Yeah it was a sweet color
Was that Black Crown a custom paint job? Doesn't Mellymelsr have a Black Crown 950? Or 850?
The Crown Jewels!
Fantastic rebuild!
Over six and a half years later, Dave, did you get the right cassette-deck belts for your Crown CSC-850 while avoiding the ruinous experience of installing too tight a rubber belt (or too tight a set of rubber belts)?
I had to replace belts on Crown CRS 850 when there were no belts on it and had to change it a couple times before getting it right. And superlew is correct that sometimes a belt instead of fully going around a pulley it needs to go to one or other side ;-)
