...(national, national-panasonic, etc) might be difficult if not impossible to find service documentation and materials for. I would say that the JVC RC-M90 might even be easier to service. If a more mechanical box is desired, the JVC RC-M70 is a very robust mechanical box that is quite durable.

I'm really into the classic look, so everything from SHARP GF-8989 to JVC M70 will do for me. ;)

There's people that make straps for boxes themself. Only a few have points to hook up straps ( M70 , M80......) If no points to hook up the belt you can attach the belt to the carry handle

It's not going to be easy to source the chrome strip or the metal panel around the power button . As far as the crack in the corner it's not that bad and could be repaired and the top re painted . The m90s I've had eventually had issues with the function switches causing sound to not come...
