Sansui stereo is not rare here in the UK - Sold under the Roberts brand & in Europe under many names! Always a few on eBay UK....Roberts RSRT-50 I think - they are a good generic machine, reliable if not a little underwhelming!

Will boomboxes marked 240v/220v/110v AC and 50/60 Hz work without a problem on United States power outlets?

I have a M70 that has 110V selector. My house voltage is 121 on average. While it's not a clean sound, the amp chip does seem to eek out a little louder distorted sound wide open compared to my 120V models :-)

    You Rest...You Rust!

Thank you both. It's nice to relax and enjoy it this evening 8-) When I cracked the case, the smell of chlorinated circuit boards filled the room. Not sure what the manufacturing process of these boards are, but they are still outgassing 40 years later..lol. I actually like the smell albeit...

    JVC-M70 cassette issue

OK thank you that sounds good. I’ll watch it the link. I’ll look at it. I might try to do it myself. If not, I can convince my friend to do it if he doesn’t have to take out the deck.

    JVC-M70 cassette issue

Cleaning the leaf switch should do the job. I don't think you have to remove the deck section but have to open the boombox, remove the front sections with speakers and then chassis out. JVC RC-M70 Boombox Complete Overhaul Before & After - YouTube The above link will be helpful to open the M70.

    JVC-M70 cassette issue

I bought my JVC-M70 boombox back in 2011. It was $400. Worked perfectly now in 2023. When I push play nothing happens I have to push play about 12 to 15 times. Then it will play. Sometimes when I flip over the tape and push play . It will play other times I have to push the play button about a...

...the perfect boombox test tool, all in one tester. Ok, it's not exactly, cheap but for 1/4 the cost of an M90, and less than the cost of a decent M70, in my opnion, why collect all the boomboxes and not get the one tool that's going to keep them running in tip top shape? The only downside is...

    What's it worth?

Hello, JVC M70 is quite a popular one, most popuoalr version being the AUX /RCA one, least popular being the European DIN version. I seldom see the Japan version (with the knobs on the front). From what I can see they usually go for anything between 200 and 500 European dollars in decent and...

Any JVC / Victor RC M90's up for sale lately??

That m 90 came all the way from Puerto Rico for less than $300 with shipping back with then before the world lost their m************ mind. I remember people making jokes how an M70 wasn't even $150 bucks . Somebody's laughing now.
