Just depends if you prioritize style or performance. For performance, the JVC M70 smokes all other boxes of its size. But be prepared to pay $300+

Yup! I would love to have one & a Candle 1287 too. I had the Candle 1287 as a teen & it was my first box. It is as loud & sounds as good as an M70...

I have seen lots of radios with paint splatter on them. My feelings about this must stem from growing up in a household that kept things well preserved. If I had a M70, that thing would be as far away from the paint as possible. It's got the power to be far away and be heard.

Lucky to score this one which I believe is the best Box of all time. Fully working /tape turns.

Thought I would throw this LED Light Kit in here just in case. This isn't intended to light the cassette mech but, it does enhance the way the M70 looks. My favorite color is the blue. I think these kits can transform how the light button on the M70 operates. Push on / Push off scenario.
